How to get the most out of your diffuser

Reed diffusers are like the unsung heroes of the fragrance world—low-maintenance, steady, and always keeping things smelling fresh. But as simple as they are to use, there are a few tips that can help you get the best out of them. Because who doesn’t want their space to smell fabulous 24/7?

1) Find the Perfect Spot
The first thing to know is that location matters. You want to place your diffuser in a spot where the fragrance can circulate freely. Think about it like finding the perfect parking spot—choose a central area where the scent can spread, but avoid placing it right next to an open window or fan. A gentle breeze might carry the scent away before it has a chance to fill the room, and we wouldn’t want that, would we?

2) Flip Your Reeds
Now, here’s a little secret—flipping the reeds every week (or whenever you notice the scent fading) can make a world of difference. This simple trick refreshes the fragrance, ensuring your space stays as lovely as the day you first set up your diffuser. Just be careful not to spill any oil when flipping (see tip #6).

3) Fewer Reeds, Softer Scent
Not a fan of strong scents? You can control the intensity by using fewer sticks. The more reeds you use, the stronger the fragrance. So, if you prefer a subtle aroma that gently whispers instead of shouts, start with 4-5 reeds and see how you like it. And remember, you can always add more if you’re craving a more powerful punch.

4) Don’t Let It Dry Out
If you notice your diffuser running low on oil, it’s time for a top-up. Don’t let the reeds sit in an empty bottle—they’ll dry out, and their ability to disperse the fragrance will fade faster than your motivation on a Monday morning. To keep your space smelling fabulous without a hitch, we've introduced the BOUJEE Subscription plans—making sure you always have a fresh supply of fragrance on hand.

5) Stay Away from Direct Sunlight
We get it—your reed diffuser looks oh-so-chic on that sunny windowsill. But sunlight is the enemy here. It can cause the fragrance oil to evaporate faster, leaving you with a weaker scent and a shorter lifespan for your diffuser. Instead, find a cool, shaded spot where it can shine without literally shining.

6) Flip Cautiously
Last but not least, when flipping those reeds (because you totally will after reading tip #2), do it over a sink or a cloth. We love our furniture and floors, and scented oil spills can be a pain to clean up.

And there you have it—everything you need to know to make your BOUJEE reed diffuser work its magic. Simple, effective, and as low-maintenance as can be. Because who has time for anything else?
